It all started with our founder and CEO, Dr. Shade's quest to solve his own health problem of mercury toxicity. He needed a way to increase absorption (bioavailability) of certain nutrients – in his case, glutathione. Typical delivery methods of glutathione rendered it ineffective as it was easily broken down in the GI tract. In looking for a way to bypass this issue, he came upon a promising delivery form – the liposome.
Unfortunately, the quality of existing liposomal products was low and variable. So, he had to make them himself. After months of trials and obsession, he figured out the core principals and chemistry needed for nutraceutical liposomes, which evolved into our flagship product, Liposomal Glutathione.
